Jewish Family Service, located in New Jersey, is a nonprofit, non-sectarian social service agency whose mission is to preserve and strengthen the quality of individual, family and community life based on Jewish values.
They offer counseling, support to seniors, career services, support to special needs families, holocaust survivor assistance, and much more.
The Challenge
JFS, who was organizing a walkathon to raise money for its programs, wanted to try an online fundraising campaign for the first time to energize supporters and participants.
They needed a campaign that they could customize to their needs and branding, offered the possibility for personal and team fundraising pages, and was affordable for a small organization like theirs.
How CauseVox Helped
CauseVox’s personal fundraising pages were a major feature of their campaign. JFS invited walk participants to create fundraising pages, powered by CauseVox, leading up to the event. Participants were then able to send their campaign to friends and family to sponsor their involvement in the walk, multiplying the reach of the JFS campaign and bringing in a broader audience.
JFS invited its supporters and donors to read about the event and make a donation on these fundraising pages through their monthly email newsletter, graphics and text links on their website, social media, and word of mouth.
Their Results
JFS’s walk-a-thon proved that even your first attempt at online fundraising can be successful when you’re able to energize your key supporters. The nonprofit received 153 online donations, generating $9,754. Among the 12 participants who created a fundraising page, all of them raised $10 or more, and one raised over $1,500.
